What a day

Yesterday was a long, challenging and exciting day.

Long because it started so early and ended so late, lots of running around making sure everything was in place for an event that night...

Challenging because even with all my best attempts some things are always out of my control and something always seems to go wrong when you don't want it to.  But no matter what is thrown my way I grab it with both hands and always rise to the challenge.

Exciting.. on so many levels...

Got home so very late last night crawled into bed and struggled to fall asleep... and then I woke up so very early this morning - 5.00am to be exact - still so tired but just couldn't get back to sleep....

So I laid awake thinking and thinking and thinking....  The song Mind Demons by Suzi Q ended up being the background music to my thoughts. 

Eventually I dragged myself out of bed and got ready for work.. got into the office early but not before I stopped off for a wake me up strong coffee....

The day has gone by fairly quickly and has been pretty productive considering my energy levels have deteriorated rapidly through the day.

I am looking forward to the weekend, having time to relax and trying not to over analyse things.

Another night on the Town.... Can i handle it !!!!

Yes it seems my younger counterparts have surfaced and are keen to go out again this Saturday night.. So am I up for it again???  Why not.  I don't get to do this very often and I'm sure I can handle one more night out on the Town... and besides its a long weekend ahead so I will have more time to recover... Of course now  I will need to find something to wear.... Any suggestions??? Thankfully I wont have any snow to deal with this weekend - well so far there is none forecast which means I wont freeze half as much..  and of course it will be safer walking around in heels.. Well some shopping is on the cards the next few days I think.. Question is can these young ones keep up with me???  I hope so - but they don't seem to make them like they used too...

Run Run Run!!!

Sunday 9 June - my Race for Life.. I was ready, even after my little holiday, even though I didn't get much running in during the holiday I did a fair amount of walking and I managed to be good and not over indulge in anything other than Thrill Rides :-) Got to Abington ready to hit the ground running so to speak... It was a cool morning overcast with a slight breeze blowing.  Everyone around me had coats and jumpers on... I didn't need one I was so excited for this run... Run started and it was going well,  however, I don't know why so many women decide to start with the runners in the front of the race only to end up walking the rest of the way... due to this I had to overtake large groups of walkers along the way who tend to walk on the flat even path.  This means I need to overtake them on uneven surfaces, half way round I managed to twist my ankle. This wasn't going to stop me finishing the race though, so I carried on through the pain and completed it in 7

The day after the night before...

Well I survived the night out and had a great time... Even though I literally froze my butt off while walking from one place to the next... I stuck to the plan and wore my chosen outfit, and was glad I took the black leather jacket with to keep me warm during our walk from one place to the next.. Started off with a few drinks (a couple of glasses of wine and about 3 Raspberry sours shooters before we went out), meant that i didn't feel the cold too much - I'd hate to think how it would have been if I was completely sober. The only downside to the evening was when, at one of the venues, I went to the little girls room to look for my friend who's birthday it was, and after making a wee* (excuse the pun)  pit stop myself, when I returned to the bar I noticed that the group of 8 or so had left... No way.... They have left me behind... I was not happy..  although I had an idea as to what the next stop would be, I had no idea on how to get there and in which direction I s
