I'm Back!!

Image
Well it has been a number of years since I was last sat here tapping away at my keyboard sharing my stories with you all. SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED!!! In the last 5 years since my last post there has been a divorce, lots of travelling: New York, Venice, Rome, and a marriage... Which resulted in more travelling: Vegas, Hawaii and Los Angeles. This morning I am sat at my desk, enjoying my not so conventional breakfast, (don't tell the trainers at the gym) trying to function after about 4.5 hours sleep isn't possible so I need it.. I thought I would take a picture to demonstrate how tired I look, but got the shock of my life when I saw the face staring back at me.  Then it dawned on me, I now know why so many people use Snap Chat.. I always thought it was for the silly little filters that overlays dog, rabbit or cat features over your face and other silly little things... But in actual fact Snap Chat seems to have this ability of making you look good even when you have dark c

Run Run Run!!!

Sunday 9 June - my Race for Life.. I was ready, even after my little holiday, even though I didn't get much running in during the holiday I did a fair amount of walking and I managed to be good and not over indulge in anything other than Thrill Rides :-) Got to Abington ready to hit the ground running so to speak... It was a cool morning overcast with a slight breeze blowing.  Everyone around me had coats and jumpers on... I didn't need one I was so excited for this run... Run started and it was going well,  however, I don't know why so many women decide to start with the runners in the front of the race only to end up walking the rest of the way... due to this I had to overtake large groups of walkers along the way who tend to walk on the flat even path.  This means I need to overtake them on uneven surfaces, half way round I managed to twist my ankle. This wasn't going to stop me finishing the race though, so I carried on through the pain and completed it in 7

Holiday

It's been a little while since I last sat tapping at my keyboard to update you.... We had a little holiday in Blackpool last week... So many people warned me not to expect too much, that it really wasn't very classy... those people clearly don't know me very well.  I can have fun just about anywhere. The drive down was fairly easy, not much traffic so we got there in just over 3 hours.  Checked in to the hotel and went straight to the beach.  Yes you heard correct THE BEACH!!! we had glorious weather while we were down there so much so that I have come back with a lovely tan.  Many have commented if they hadn't known any better they would have thought I went abroad... We walked along the beach front and well didn't do much at all the first day, what bliss :-) The Wednesday we booked to go to Blackpool Pleasure Beach... I got to act like a kid all over again... I love thrill rides, if I could I would have gone on every single ride there even all the children

Massive Night!!!

As you know my week was manic, I hardly slept all week constantly thinking of the big event I was organising for Saturday afternoon. I got up rather early on Saturday morning, following a few hours of broken sleep.  Got to work at 7.00am and the day started full swing....  At that moment I never envisaged being awake and on my feet for 24 HOURS!!!! The day went so much smoother than I could have expected, so much so, that there is talk of doing it again next year... BRING IT ON!!! When I eventually got home around 5.00pm I had a quick shower, bite to eat and started my prep for the night out on the town with the girls.  Wasn't sure how long I would last but I was determined to go out and have a good night... It was a fab night, started with drinks at someones house, met some lovely new girls we just hit it off and it was fab, one was a mad maniac just like me, who walks in to a place grabs a drink and heads straight to the dance floor!! We went from one place to the next

Weekend so soon again

Been so busy this week time has flown by... still have so much more to do but I am working on the assumption that everything will work out... Went rummaging through some of my music archives a little while ago and flipped my recent listening to some of my favourites.. I am now contemplating re-working my current running play list to some of my fav rock songs...  who knows maybe the change in music will help me along my way... So I may craft a play list consisting of some White Stripes , Goo Goo Dolls , Aerosmith , Daughtry , Def Leppard and of course lets not forget some Suzi Q . Actually came across a Daughtry song that I love is called Losing my mind.... It always amazes me what inspires artists to write their songs - for example Lyrics like... 'My head keeps spinnin', You got me trippin' There's something about the way you move every little single thing you do is like One part angel and one part danger But, oh, the kind of crazy I like You got me losing

New shoes no more

So, I was meant to attend a Body Pump class at the local gym tonight with a friend, but sadly that has been postponed to another day. Naturally I could have sat around just doing nothing but instead I decided to go for a run. Yes I did it, I have Christened my new running shoes. What a comfortable run they have given my feet and knees. The weather on the other hand didn't help me along, about 3km from home the heavens opened and the wind started to blow, any runner will tell you running against the wind is hard work. But still, I managed just over 9km in 67min and the route on my Nike running app shows green all the way, which means I managed to keep a good constant pace. May just be turning into a running machine. I've just got out the longest, hottest bath filled with muscle soak and bubbles, but I think I will be in desperate need of a leg rub tomorrow.... But for now I'm going to just sit and relax and make a mental list for things to come tomorrow. Nighty

Where has the weekend gone???

Well the weekend has almost come to an end. It has been a busy one. At the moment I am sitting at a children's birthday party and I know I'm going to have a massive headache when it's over. The boys are on top form at this party today. I have never heard so many high pitched squeals. Haven't quite finished my book. It has been tricky finding the time to read it. I was about to invest in a Kindle but it seems my car has other ideas :( On the plus side I am looking forward to the start of a new work week ;) have a lot to do. Have some things I need to find out, and I can't wait.. I am planning on going to a body pump class at the local gym tomorrow evening. Need to get rid of the rest of this fat that still seems intent on sticking around. I am even more determined now than before to lose another half stone. I must make sure I'm in my best shape ;) Till next time all xx
